The Rada Committee voted for the appointment of Kostin to the post of Prosecutor General/Channel 24 collage The President submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft resolution on the appointment of Andrei Kostin as Prosecutor General. The decision was announced by the People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak. Earlier, the media reported that there were two candidates for this post.
Kostin's candidacy was approved
According to Zheleznyak, the law enforcement committee of the Rada held a meeting. The participants supported the presidential decree and agreed to appoint Kostin to the post of Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
Zheleznyak also announced the results of the vote. 17 committee members supported this decision. One MP abstained from voting.
Please note! Andriy Kostin is a people's deputy of Ukraine, a member of the Servant of the People faction, head of the Verkhovna Rada committee on legal policy. The lawyer graduated from Mechnikov Odessa State University.
When Kostin was appointed, signatures were collected
- On July 17, Volodymyr Zelensky’s decree on removal from office appeared on the President’s website and Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova and head of the SBU Ivan Bakanov. He explained this by the fact that there were many traitors in the structures.
- The duties of the Prosecutor General are performed by Deputy Venediktova Alexei Simonenko. It also had many reservations and questions. He became known when he signed a suspicion to the fifth president, Petro Poroshenko.
- And deputy Yaroslav Yurchyshyn said that the Rada began collecting signatures for the appointment of the People's Deputy from the Servant of the People Andriy Kostin as Prosecutor General. At the same time, people's deputies announced that the appointment of the head of the SBU may be postponed.
