The Rada registered a bill on strengthening the state border/Collage of Channel 24
The Verkhovna Rada has registered a draft law providing for the strengthening of the state border of Ukraine. We are talking about innovations on the border with Russia and Belarus.
The relevant information was published on the Rada website. The draft law was initiated by a number of people's deputies of Ukraine.
The Council proposes to strengthen the border with Russia and Belarus
The draft law proposes to ban within 2 kilometers along the state border with Russia and Belarus:
- free entry;
- stay;
- residence;
- movement of people;
- as well as conducting any other work not related to the defense or protection of the border.
The draft law also provides for the possibility:
- to fix at the legislative level the existing set of measures to cover the state border in areas that threaten in the event of real threats of attack on Ukraine or armed aggression;
- allow build, equip and maintain engineering and fortification structures, fences, border signs, border clearings and communications on the lands of the natural reserve fund along the line of the state border;
- allocate most of the land along the border with Russia and Belarus for the development of means of protection and defense of the border, including minefields.
The draft law proposes to simplify the procedure for the forced expulsion from Ukraine of illegal migrants detained by authorized state bodies, illegal crossing of the state border or other gross violations of Ukrainian legislation by granting the right to make such decisions to the relevant state bodies (SBU, DMS, border guards). To apply to the court already for detention in order to carry out expulsion, the draft law says.
In addition, the document provides for other changes that exclude the abuse of the procedure for acquiring refugee status by persons:
- who are banned from entering Ukraine;
- or who pose a threat to the border security of our state.
Briefly about the latest news regarding the border
- Russia fired at least 45 rockets into Ukraine during the night and morning of 25 June. The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine explained that this shelling of Ukraine is a large-scale provocation to involve Belarus in the war.
- After all, according to intelligence, Russian bombers hit our state directly from the territory of Belarus. It is known that the launch line is the area of the city of Petrikov near Mozyr, which is approximately 50-60 kilometers from the state border of Ukraine.
- On the same day, Vadim Skibitsky, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, said that there were approximately 1,500 Russian soldiers on the territory of Belarus. There is also a lot of equipment there – at least Su-34, Su-30 aircraft, one division of the Iskander missile system, S-400 systems.
- Previously, there was information that Belarusians were on the border with Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania are digging trenches. Political analyst and co-founder of the consulting company Good Politics Maxim Dzhigun said that there is an attempt of information and political blackmail by Belarus, which is absolutely controlled by the Kremlin.
- Putin's goal is simple – to prevent the Ukrainian military from mobilizing to those points where they are now more of all are needed and where the biggest threat from Russia is. Dzhigun explained that Moscow wants to tie up Ukrainian forces along the entire border, preventing them from concentrating and pushing Russians out of Zaporozhye, Kherson, Kharkov, Donetsk, Lugansk, and Mykolaiv regions.
