On Thursday, November 16, the United States announced that it had imposed new sanctions on three entities and blocked three oil tankers carrying Russian oil for violating the $60 per barrel price ceiling.
This was reported by the press service of the US Treasury Department.
The new sanctions affect three companies registered in the UAE – Kazan Shipping, Progress Shipping and Gallion Navigation. They own the tankers Kazan, Ligovsky Prospekt and NS Century.

The above-mentioned tankers exported Russian oil at a price of more than $60 per barrel after the price ceiling came into force, and used the services of companies from the United States.
“We are committed to maintaining market stability despite Russia's war against Ukraine, while reducing the revenue the Kremlin uses to finance its illegal war and remaining steadfast in pursuing those who facilitate price cap evasion,” said U.S. Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo.
He noted that the United States will continue to impose restrictions on companies and ships that contribute to evasion of the price ceiling for Russian oil.
Sanctions against the Russian oil business
Russia's oil export revenues fell in October as global oil prices fell, according to the International Energy Agency.
In October, Russia received $18.34 billion from the export of crude oil and petroleum products, which is $25 million less than in September.
Due to Western sanctions in Russia, transportation costs have increased, so Russian oil has fallen in price. However, Russia's monthly revenues from oil sales abroad remained at almost the highest level since October 2022.
