The creation of a European Fund for the recovery of Ukraine together with the EU, Italy, Germany, France and Poland was announced by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

“I am particularly pleased to announce today the launch of the European Flagship Fund for Ukraine Recovery, the world’s largest equity fund to support recovery,” she said during a speech at the Conference on the Restoration of Ukraine in Rome
The fund was established jointly with Italy, Germany, France, Poland, and with the participation of the European Investment Bank.
Von der Leyen stressed that, together with the private sector, the fund would initiate investments in energy, transport, critical raw materials and dual-use areas.
