The Romanian Ministry of Defense confirmed that a crater from a drone was found on their territory. The country's president said that the fall of enemy drones increases the risk of escalation.

The Office of the President of Romania noted that on October 12, a meeting of the Supreme Defense Council of the country was held, headed by Romanian President Klaus Iohannis. This happened after a night attack by Russia in the Odessa region.

At a meeting of the Supreme Defense Council of Romania discussed another crash of a Russian drone on the territory of their country.

Intensifying Russian drone attacks on Ukrainian sea and river ports in the Black Sea region have brought the war even closer to Romania's borders. Cases of drone fragments falling onto the territory of our country, and therefore NATO, have increased the risk of escalation, the presidential office said.

They assured that they “constantly and in detail” inform their allies and partners, including and strategic, about developments and their potential impact.

Klaus Iohannis assured that they have received significant political and practical support from all Alliance members and partners. It included air patrols and air surveillance over the Black Sea.

An enemy drone fell again in Romania

• Russia launched from the northern and southern directions on the evening of October 11, namely from the Belgorod region of Russia and Cape Chauda in Crimea, kamikaze drones of the “Shahed” type.
• The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said that they shot down enemy drones over 6 regions of Ukraine. Our military recorded the enemy launching 33 Shahed-type drones. Of these, 28 were shot down by our military.
• Unfortunately, the invaders hit the Odessa region. In particular, the occupiers recorded damage to port infrastructure and residential buildings in the Izmail region. Fires broke out there, which rescuers extinguished.
• Subsequently, the Romanian Ministry of Defense announced that they had discovered a crater from a drone. The department explained that there may have been an explosion at the crash site. The funnel was found in the vegetation area on the right bank of the Kiliya branch. It is approximately 3 kilometers west of the Romanian village of Plaur.
