Political scientist named countries that could be threatened by Russia in the future

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken arrived in Kyiv on September 8 “not empty-handed”. He announced that the United States would provide $2 billion in aid to Ukraine, as well as other countries potentially threatened by Russia.

This list, apart from Ukraine, includes 18 European states, including the Baltic countries, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Moldova and others. However, the danger exists for those who are not included in this list. Channel 24 was told by political scientist Oleksandr Antonyuk.

Germany and France are also under threat

He noted that First of all, the threat remains for the Baltic countries, which have been repeatedly threatened by the aggressor country, and Moldova. However, there are less obvious countries, such as Germany and France.

There are military actions, such as we have today, and there are hybrid ones, which also should not be forgotten and which are also quite effective when it comes to creating a crisis – political and institutional, – the political scientist explained.

Antonyuk believes that now in France it is quite easy to organize a movement similar to the “actions of the yellow vests” that have been carried out there since 2018, and thus create a significant destabilizing factor. This indicates, first of all, that Marine Le Pen and other pro-Russian politicians received a considerable level of support in the current elections.

“Given this electoral demand, and the fact that the economic situation in Europe wants to be better, then there are such threats. I think that Blinken meant such actions,” Antonyuk suggests.

The political scientist added that US assistance to certain countries can be aimed not only at strengthening the defense capability, but and, for example, to address the issue of energy security, as well as the funding of intelligence and counterintelligence services in order to prevent Russia from undermining the European Union. and destroy the anti-Putin coalition.

Recall that in early September, pro-Russian rallies were held in several European countries, in which a clear trace of Russian agents was visible. Protestants in the Czech Republic and Germany took to the streets with Russian symbols. It is likely that such actions organized by pro-Russian forces will continue in order to undermine support for Ukraine by European countries.
