Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski did not rule out the scenario when it would be necessary to send troops to Ukraine. However, he did not outline exactly what tasks the Polish military would perform in Ukraine in the event of a positive decision.

Radoslaw Sikorski, commenting on plans to confront Russia, answered a question about Poland’s readiness to send troops to Ukraine. He also clarified some nuances regarding the disclosure of shipping intentions.

We should not rule it out. We must leave Putin guessing as to our intentions,” noted the Polish Foreign Minister.

At the same time, Radoslaw Sikorski did not specify what the role of Polish troops would be if they were transferred to Ukraine.

The positions of Western countries regarding sending troops to Ukraine vary

• The Estonian government is “seriously” discussing the possibility of sending troops to western Ukraine to help Kyiv free up reserves to send to the front.
• Prime- Estonian Minister Kaja Kallas said that NATO countries should not be afraid to send troops to Ukraine for training exercises for Ukrainian Armed Forces. She is convinced that an attack on training personnel will not trigger Article 5 of the Alliance on mutual defense.
• French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed that his country does not rule out the possibility of sending ground troops to Ukraine. However, this will happen if the conflict with Russia escalates.
• Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, who was recently assassinated, previously stated that sending the Slovak military to Ukraine is impossible. This statement came against the backdrop of talk about involving the French army in the war.
• At the same time, when many realized that the war could easily move to NATO and EU territory and allow the introduction troops to Ukraine, the US is still against it. But they say that they can intervene only for 2 reasons: if Russia attracts Belarus or to attack the Baltic countries, Poland or Moldova.
