They talk again about supposedly Ukrainian grain. The protest is planned to begin at 10:00 on March 1, blocking the border crossing in Budzisko.

What is known about the new farmers' protest< /h2>

The coordinator of the protest of Polish farmers on the border with Lithuania, Karol Pieczynski, said that they want to stop the phenomenon of the so-called “grain carousel”.

< p>According to him, Ukrainian grain enters Poland in transit through the Lublin or Subcarpathian voivodeship.

Then the car is sent to Lithuania. After crossing the Polish-Lithuanian border, transport is no longer tracked by Polish services. On the territory of Lithuania, the documents for grain are “changed”, after which the truck returns to Poland, Pechinsky is convinced.

He added that the cargo becomes a product of the European community, which means it can be freely imported into the country. Pieczynski is convinced that this is a way to circumvent the embargo that Poland introduced on September 15 on grain imports from Ukraine.

The protest coordinator said that the following will take part in it:

  • farmers from the Warmian-Masurian and Podlaskie voivodeships;
  • probably also Lithuanian farmers who will block traffic transport for its part. They are convinced that part of the Ukrainian grain ends up on their market, which leads to a fall in prices for agricultural products and, accordingly, a decrease in the income of farmers.

The main demand of the protesters on the Polish-Lithuanian border is Lithuania’s accession to the EU transit program.

Moreover, AgroUnia activists announced that they would hold an action against the “grain carousel” in Poland as well. -German border.
