The plans are written in its constitution: Svitan told what an aggressor country might be preparing for

Analysts at the Institute for the Study of War believe that the Russians have not abandoned the idea of landing troops in our rear. However, any landing force, especially an airborne one, is vulnerable to Ukrainian air defense systems.

This opinion 24 Channel was expressed by reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, instructor pilot, military expert Roman Svitan, adding that our country has powerful means and will not allow troops to enter the territory. Moreover, even conditionally one plane with fighters does not organize large-scale offensive actions.

Is there a possibility of a DRG landing

You can consider options for transferring small sabotage and reconnaissance groups to the rear, but this can only be done to a certain depth. We are talking about 15 – 20 kilometers, no more. Mostly, DRGs are blown up by mines in the supply strip.

This strip can be overcome with the help of aviation, but for this you need to create units that will transport troops. Perhaps such preparations are continuing in Russia, but if the Ukrainian side knows about this, then they are definitely preparing for counteraction.

Any helicopter-level aircraft – a good target for MANPADS or even small arms. The Russians don’t have many chances to survive, because the enemy’s aircraft will be waiting for them on the way, and then they will catch them,” noted Roman Svitan.

Where the Russians can direct their forces

According to the military expert, the plans of the aggressor country are written down in its main documents, and they are obvious.

Our 5 regions are included in the Russian constitution: Crimean, Lugansk, Donetsk, Zaporozhye, Kherson. Therefore, reading the primary sources, it is clear where they will plan offensive actions,” Svitan emphasized.

According to him, the first stage for the invaders is reaching the borders of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. Next are the administrative borders of Zaporozhye and Kherson. But these are just the plans that the enemy draws for himself. “All this suggests that if they move somewhere, it will be along the Black Sea coast,” said the reserve colonel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

It is also impossible to exclude the plans of the occupiers to seize other countries. In particular, Roman Svitan mentioned Molodova and the Balkans, but these are goals for at least ten years. The Russians will definitely not be able to fulfill them, because they have not yet resolved a single serious issue written in their constitution.

They actually ” they killed” the constitution when they included 5 regions of a foreign state. Now they will try to somehow restore this legal field, to reach the borders, but this is an unrealistic process. “They cannot even break out of the first line of defense in the Donetsk region,” Svitan emphasized.

The situation at the front: current news

  • In the East, the Russians continue to attack. During January 16, 94 military clashes were recorded. The enemy carried out almost 70 air strikes and fired artillery, resulting in civilian casualties. The invaders' attacks were repulsed in the Bakhmutsky, Limansky, Maryinsky directions and other areas.
  • The Russians are not giving up their attempts to capture Avdeevka. British intelligence analysts noted that the invaders are advancing at the cost of heavy losses in equipment and personnel. They are making attempts to capture the village of Stepnoe, which is important in the logistics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this direction, however, analysts called the success of the invaders unlikely.
  • In the South, the invaders concentrated on Krinki, in the Kherson region. There they are trying to dislodge Ukrainian soldiers from their position. However, the combat work of the Ukrainian Armed Forces continues, our defenders are gaining a foothold and expanding the bridgehead. The enemy is powerfully bombing this area, not a single house remains standing.
