On March 23, 2022, Channel 24 operator Yuri Oleinik died in battles against the invaders. He courageously defended Ukraine near Popasna, Luhansk region.
Channel 24 host Sofia Troshchuk remembered the deceased hero Yuri Oleinik. Although it has been a long time, but the pain of loss does not subside. On February 24, Yuri immediately left to defend Ukraine.
A year ago, I said goodbye to my colleague Yuri Oleinik. On that day, I did not know that we were saying goodbye forever. A lot of time has passed – exactly a year since Yura and I saw each other live for the last time … Each loss of our defenders is irreparable. It is not true that time heals. It just blunts wounds, – Sofia Troshchuk noted.
In 2022, Ukrainians have endured many pains and sufferings, but have survived in the fight against the Russian occupiers. During this time, there have been many significant successes: the defense of the capital, the expulsion of the invaders from the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the Kharkiv offensive, the liberation of Kherson, the explosion on the Crimean bridge, the drowned cruiser Moscow, which “feeds” the fish in the Black Sea, etc.
Let's hope that in 2023 we will forget about the emerging quarrels and continue to remain united until victory. Let's support our defenders and defenders. This is a great investment in a peaceful future without Russia and the war that has affected each of us,” the Channel 24 host emphasized.
Yuri Oleinik went to war for the second time
For the first time, Yury Oleinik went to war in 2014, when Russia launched an aggression in the Donbass. After the start of a full-scale war, on the very first day he left for the military registration and enlistment office and joined his native brigade.
Yuri Oleinik worked as a cameraman on Channel 24
Yuri Oleinik was an incredibly talented person. He has worked on a large number of projects on Channel 24. His legacy includes the projects “We”, “We 2.0”, “Transplantation”, “Save Life”.
