This issue is being actively discussed in the US Congress. Adviser to the Head of the Office of the President Mikhail Podolyak said this to Channel 24.
An important step
For the sixth month, Russian invaders have been mercilessly killing Ukrainian civilians and destroying our cities. The entire civilized world today has realized that the Russians are criminals and liars, with whom any agreements are useless. First, they sign an agreement on the export of grain, and then shell the port of Odessa. According to Podolyak, the recognition of Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism is a very important decision for Ukraine.
As a result, we will be able to get a state that will be isolated even from countries that take a neutral position, – says Podolyak.
Today, Europe, North America, Japan, Australia take a frank anti-Russian position, which provides for sanctions and restrictions. These are developed countries belonging to the civilized part of the world.
Unfortunately, there are a certain number of countries that have chosen a neutral attitude. We are talking about the countries of Latin America, Africa, India, China, etc.
“The status of “sponsor of terrorism” more strictly regulates business, economic and financial relations with these countries. They will be motivated to significantly reduce the volume trade with Russia,” Podolyak explained.
He is convinced that the recognition of Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism will finally sever all remnants of his financial relations with the civilized world.

- Speaker of the US House Nancy Pelosi said: if Russia is not on the list of state sponsors of terrorism, then this list can simply be “teared and thrown away.” Note that after granting the status to Russia, it will join Syria, Cuba, North Korea and Iran.
