The entire civilized world is ready for negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. But there are still discussions among the leaders about the conditions under which it is possible. Scholz named the key one.
He announced it during a press conference with his Brazilian colleague Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. According to Olaf Scholz, it will be possible to talk about negotiations under one condition, which the Russians must comply with.
The enemy must leave Ukraine
The German Chancellor stressed that for peace talks it is necessary, for Russia to withdraw its troops from Ukraine. He made this remark in response to Lula's words that he had heard very little about the world during discussions about the Russian invasion. Thus, we got the opportunity to see how differently the leaders think at this moment.
Scholz did not limit himself to these words. He stressed that not a single peace with Russia should be laid behind the backs of Ukrainians. The Chancellor once again articulated an important point: Ukraine is a subject of the negotiation process, not an object. At the same time, Scholz noted that he has a common and clear position with the President of Brazil: “We both condemn the Russian invasion.”
But Brazil will not give us weapons
At the same time , during a press conference, Lula made it clear that Ukraine would not receive ammunition from Brazil for Gepard air defense systems or Leopard tanks.
Brazil is not interested in transferring ammunition for the Ukrainian-Russian war. Brazil is a country of the world. That is why Brazil does not want to participate in this war, even indirectly,โ he stressed.
Ukraine may receive fighter jets
- In the meantime, the issue of transferring fighter jets to our state is being especially actively discussed. We are talking about the F-16 and other aircraft. For example, on January 31, it became known that Reznikov was flying to Paris to talk with Macron about this.
- By the way, we really need planes. The speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuri Ignat, recalled that our military flies on Soviet aircraft. So we urgently need to update them with Western-made variants.
- Ignat also noted that in order to protect Ukraine in the future, we need at least 5 fighter brigades. We are talking about 180 fighters. At the same time, the press secretary of the Air Force noted that no one would give our state that much.
- Finally, let us recall the words of military expert Roman Svitan. According to him, our state needs 2 air brigades from the F-16. This amount will be enough, considering that these are 4-in-1 fighters. They can perform a variety of tasks.
