On October 21, Dmitry Lubinets held his first meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian Red Cross. The theme was the challenges that the Ukrainian people had to face as a result of a full-scale attack by Russia.
Lubinets, the Ukrainian ombudsman, said that during the meeting, they discussed mechanisms to solve existing problems. First of all, in the issue of restoration.
In particular, it is said about:
- rehabilitation of children;
- rehabilitation of the military who returned from captivity;
- assistance to military relatives who need care at home.
Lubinets noted that there are many questions about the activities of the International Committee of the Red Cross regarding their work with prisoners of war.
But I want to make it clear that in addition to the International Committee of the Red Cross, the Red Cross Society of Ukraine is also working. And these are Ukrainians, just like you and me. From the first days of the war, they have been helping Ukrainians on the territory of our state,” the message says.

- Ukraine demands that the International Committee of the Red Cross send its mission to the colony in Olenivka, where the invaders committed a terrorist act. In Olenivka, the invaders keep Ukrainian prisoners of war. Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of the President, said that the deadline is October 17. The occupiers do terrible things every day and every hour, and it is impossible to remain silent about this.
- The ChH said that they did not have access to prisoners of war. Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticized the actions of the committee and stressed that this is not a club with privileges. Olenevka is actually a concentration camp.
- Subsequently, the International Committee of the Red Cross ignored the meeting with the Ukrainian delegation. It was supposed to take place on the demarcation line.
