Vladimir Putin ordered his troops to reach the administrative borders of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions by March 1. However, the invaders' plans failed.
This was told to Channel 24 by Andrey Kovalenko, a political strategist and air reconnaissance officer of the volunteer formation of the territorial community (DFTG). According to him, the Russian invaders are trying to advance in the East of Ukraine.
The offensive of the enemy in the East is already “choking”
However, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are rebuffing the invaders and holding back the enemy's advance.
The Russian offensive has been going on for weeks. But it is mostly already choking in many areas, – said Kovalenko.
As the aerial reconnaissance officer explained, the thaw will soon begin. And at the front, in a broad sense, the invaders will no longer have the opportunity to carry out armored vehicle raids at certain distances due to the fact that the soil will be wet.
Kovalenko added that due to weather conditions, tanks and armored vehicles would simply be loaded in the mud.

The Russians will not be successful in the area of Svatovoe and Kremennaya
As the air reconnaissance officer noted, the curtailment of enemy attacks does not apply to Bakhmut and Vuhledar in the Donetsk region.
But the counter-offensive of the Russians in the area of Svatovoe and Kremennaya up to Liman, which they planned, most likely will not be successful, Kovalenko emphasized.
He noted that the invaders will not be able to attack in this direction for 2 reasons.
- First, because of the actions of the Defense Forces.
- Secondly, the offensive efforts of the enemy will be hindered by a thaw.
“The season is coming, which does not allow fighting and making offensives in the form in which the Russians planned them,” the air reconnaissance officer noted.
Prospects for the Armed Forces
Weather conditions at the beginning of spring open up certain opportunities for the Defense Forces.
During this time, there is a good opportunity to inflict maximum damage on the enemy, since the occupiers will switch mainly to infantry raids of assault groups,” Kovalenko said.
He added that such infantry exits to the prepared positions of the Defense Forces for the enemy ended mainly with heavy losses.
The situation at the front: the main thing
- Russia continues to wage a full-scale war against Ukraine. So far, the occupiers are trying to conduct an offensive in the Kupyansky, Limansky, Bakhmutsky, Avdeevsky and Shakhtyorsky directions.
- As the head of the Lugansk OVA, Sergei Gaidai, said, Russia launched a full-scale offensive in the Lugansk region. The most active battles are taking place near Belogorovka, in the direction of Svatovo – Kupyansk and in the Kremennaya area.
- Russia is pulling up reserves to Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. Military expert Oleg Zhdanov suggested that the invaders would increase pressure on the fortress city from three sides.
