Three days of the 75-year-old Russian occupiers held the pensioner hostage, putting forward the demands of his daughter, a member of the NUJU Svetlana Zalizetskaya.

Iosif Zalizetsky was abducted on March 23 after a search was made in the house of his daughter, Svetlana Zalizetskaya, director of the Main Newspaper of Melitopol and the news site Regional News Agency – Melitopol.

On the first day of the abduction, the father was allowed to speak with his daughter. He said that he was being held in some basement. And there was only one demand – Svetlana should be next to her father.

For refusing to cooperate with the invaders

Earlier, the journalist refused to cooperate with the occupiers and informed the self-proclaimed mayor of Melitopol, Galina Danilchenko, who demanded either to cooperate with the enemies or stop the site.

After the first call, Svetlana Zalizetskaya said that she would not come to the city and demanded to let go stroke pensioner, promising that the atrocities and cruelty of Russia against civilians will learn about the whole world.

Subsequently, there was another call with a new requirement – to write on his Facebook page a statement about the transfer of control of the site “RIA- Melitopol” to third parties. This was another condition for the release of Svetlana's father. After the publication of the statement, Iosif Zalizetsky was released.
