The occupiers bombed the center of Velikaya Pisarevka: consequences of shelling in the Sumy region

In the Sumy region, Russian occupiers bombed the center of the border settlement of Velikaya Pisarevka on March 17. Gas supplies were cut off there due to network damage. During the day, Russian troops carried out about 80 shellings of the Sumy region.

This was reported by the head of the Velikopisarevsk community Lyudmila Biryukova, the Sumy branch of Gazseti and the National Police in the Sumy region.

— The enemy destroyed the center of the village of Velikaya Pisarevka. I hope that each of us will conclude that life — this is the most valuable thing, after which it will come for evacuation, — says Lyudmila Biryukova.

According to information from the Sumy branch of Gazseti, gas supply has been stopped in Velikaya Pisarevka due to massive damage to networks and houses. Currently, about 1,375 consumers remain without gas.

The State Emergency Service reported that on March 17, the evacuation of border residents occurred in the village of Velikaya Pisarevka. Rescuers helped adults and children get into the transport, and then met them in a safer place.

According to the National Police, about 383 strikes were carried out in the Sumy region per day. The enemy attacked the region with rockets, bombs, drones, artillery, mortars, grenade launchers and multiple rocket launchers.

As a result of shelling in the Sumy region, four apartment buildings and 18 private residential buildings, a hospital, a lyceum, three utility rooms, two garages, two hangars and an administrative building of an enterprise, as well as vehicles were damaged.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated regarding violations of the laws and customs of war (under Article 438) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
