The following nominations were distributed as follows:
- Best Young Athlete 2023 — two-time world and European champion in swimming among juniors, winner of the Olympic standard (at distances of 100 and 200 m backstroke) Alexander Zheltyakov;
- Best coach of a young athlete 2023 — personal trainer of Alexander Zheltyakov Alexander Kulik.
For the preparation of Maguchy, the Athletics Federation of Ukraine and the Central Sports Club of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive awards.
The decision on the athletes of the year was made by the NOC Expert Commission to determine the best athletes and coaches of the month based on the results of performances at leading international competitions in Olympic sports.
Recall that in 2023 Maguchikh became the world champion for the first time, and also defended the title of Diamond League winner.
