German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius intends to visit Ukraine. He even said approximate dates when this could happen.
Pistorius told reporters about this while visiting the operational center of the Bundeswehr. By the way, this will be his first official visit to the crisis region.
My visit… to Ukraine will take place soon,” Pistorius said.
At the same time, the minister did not specify the date. He added that after Ukraine he would visit the countries where Bundeswehr soldiers carry out missions.
Pistorius also mentioned the issue of supplying aircraft for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but called it a “hypothetical” question for the time being. He noted that he would not answer “hypothetical” questions yet. However, he referred to Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who said the other day that the supply of combat aircraft to Kyiv has not yet been discussed.
What Pistorius said about tanks
The new minister promised that Germany would provide tanks to Ukraine by the end of March. Then he was asked if it was a timely move to strengthen Ukraine on the eve of the expected Russian spring offensive. Pistorius said he was “timely” to the best of his knowledge.
