The Netherlands will allocate 100 million euros for the purchase of ammunition for Ukraine in countries around the world.

The Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte announced this on the social network X (Twitter).

Mark Rutte spoke about the decision to allocate funds for the Czech initiative after a meeting in Paris with heads of state and government from a wide group of countries to support Ukraine.

— That is why the Netherlands is allocating more than 100 million euros to the Czech initiative to quickly deliver hundreds of thousands of artillery shells to Ukraine. We know that Putin is preparing for a long war. We must constantly show that we are unshakable and that time is not on his side,” said Mark Rutte.

The Prime Minister noted that this is why the Netherlands is concluding a security agreement with Ukraine, to continue to support the Ukrainians for at least the next 10 years, to guarantee the future security of Ukraine and the Netherlands.

Czech initiative

Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala after the meeting commented on the financing of the purchase of ammunition for Ukraine. According to him, containing and stopping Russia as far as possible from the Czech borders — this is a much better option than if Russia approached the border of Slovakia and wanted to move further.

— In Paris, we agreed to increase the supply of ammunition to Ukraine and to increase the weapons potential of European countries as quickly as possible. The determination to resist Russian aggression and support Ukraine in its just struggle turned out to be very strong,” he emphasized.

Meeting in Paris February 26

On February 26, a meeting of leaders and representatives of about 20 countries was held at the Elysee Palace in Paris, at which issues of assistance to Ukraine were discussed.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Polish President Andrzej Duda and prime ministers of several European countries took part in the discussions. From the United States at the meeting was the US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James O'Brien, and Britain was represented by — Foreign Minister David Cameron.
