The Netherlands has allocated €300 million for the restoration of Ukraine

The Netherlands will allocate 300 million euros for the restoration of Ukraine in 2025-2026. Part of these funds will be used to restore the energy infrastructure.

This was stated by the country's Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp during the Conference on the Restoration of Ukraine in Rome.

According to Veldkamp, €30 million of this amount will be allocated to support Dutch companies and organizations in creating projects that contribute to the recovery and sustainable development of Ukraine, through the grant program Partnership Fund with Ukraine.

€52 million will be spent in 2025 on the restoration of energy infrastructure and drinking water supply in Ukraine.

Another €4 million will go towards the construction of a new wing of the Children's Hospital in Lviv in cooperation with the Princess Maxima Children's Oncology Centre in Utrecht.

These amounts are part of the funds that the Dutch government previously allocated for 2025 and 2026 for non-military support to Ukraine.

The total amount is more than €500 million, or €252 million per year.

The allocation of the first €200 million was already announced earlier, and now the purpose of the remaining funds has also been determined.

According to him, it is important that the international community supports Ukraine not only with weapons, but also financially, economically and socially.

“This is, so to speak, the rear behind the front line. Our financial and economic support will also contribute to a smoother recovery and a reduction in reconstruction costs,” the minister noted.

During the Conference, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands and the Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko are expected to sign a cooperation agreement to extend the grant program of the Partnership Fund with Ukraine.

It was previously reported that the Conference would be held on July 10-11 in Rome, where more than 4,000 high-ranking officials would take part.

Security will be a key element of the discussion: what steps will raise the price of aggression, how to force Russia to a truce, and what specific actions are needed to strengthen Ukraine.
