The Cabinet of Ministers introduced the relevant changes at a government meeting on September 2. After verification, the Ministry of Justice will send its results to the National Security and Defense Council,
What is it for
This will ensure the implementation of the Law of Ukraine “On the Prevention of Threats to National Security” associated with the excessive influence of persons with significant economic and political weight in public life (oligarchs)”.
Based on the request of the buyer (potential buyer) of the media, our relevant department will conduct verification of the business reputation of such an acquirer. That is, an assessment of information on the detection of compliance or non-compliance of the specified person with the requirements of the Law on Deoligarchization will be provided, – explained the Minister of Justice of Ukraine Denys Malyuska.
The results of each check will be sent to the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. At the same time, the Ministry of Justice will also inform the relevant media buyers of its findings.
