The article reported that representatives of the Wagner PMC informed the families of the captured mercenaries that they had died. In particular, the agency managed to obtain confirmation of this information from the relatives of three prisoners, who stated that their loved ones had died in Tuareg captivity.

However, a representative of the Tuareg rebel group denied this statement, claiming that the Russian prisoners and Malian army soldiers captured in the same battle remain alive.

At the same time, he refused to provide confirmation that the prisoners were alive. It is worth noting that at first, representatives of the Wagner PMC stated that most of the fighters who participated in the battle in the desert were missing.

However, the agency was able to identify the names of 31 mercenaries who went missing or were captured during a clash with the Tuaregs. Although the Wagnerites admitted that they suffered significant losses during the ambush in Mali, they did not provide any information on their number.

Recall that after the defeat of the Wagnerites in Mali, the country's government decided to sever diplomatic relations with Ukraine. There they accused Kyiv of “violating Mali's sovereignty.”
