The man who was detained near the Okhmatdyt children's hospital in Kyiv was not a Russian fire spotter.

The head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv, Dmitry Shumeiko, explained on the air of the One News telethon that the citizen, who seemed suspicious to caring Kiev residents, was checked by the police and the Security Service of Ukraine, but the information was not confirmed.

— At the site near the Okhmatdyt hospital, citizens saw a man who seemed suspicious to them, his behavior and communication. They approached the nearest police line. The squad took this man to the police department, where operatives, together with employees of the Security Service, worked on this man, checked him with technical and other means. This information has not been confirmed, — affirms the head of the National Police Main Directorate in Kyiv.

Previously, not far from the Okhmatdyt children's institution in Kyiv, a foreigner was probably detained who was renting a hospital after the massive Russian shelling on July 8.

Although, as eyewitnesses stated, at the scene of the incident they heard him communicating in Russian. The man was detained by police. Law enforcement officers checked whether he was an enemy fire spotter.
