Many people, including the people of Kiev, are returning to the capital. Ukrainians from other cities who were forced to leave their homes also decide to go back.
However, this is not entirely safe yet. Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs Viktor Andrusov told Channel 24 about this. He once again warned people about the threat of serious danger to Ukrainians.
Today, the level of security in Kyiv, Lvov, Uzhgorod and other cities of Ukraine is approximately at the same level, – the adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized.
As he explained, the only threat in these cities is the missile and bomb strikes of the Russian military. At the same time, there are no threats of storming these settlements. As well as the work of sabotage and reconnaissance groups, law enforcement officers also immediately identify.
“However, within the general situation in Ukraine, Kyiv is as safe as other cities in western Ukraine,” he added.
However, as Andrusov noted, the number of checkpoints will not decrease. However, the number of employees will change. That is, the number of military and police on them will be somewhat reduced. But it is worth noting that for the duration of the curfew (it can be different in each city), they will be filled with law enforcement officers.
The Kyiv City State Administration cannot guarantee that it is now safe to return to Kyiv
- The mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, noted that the authorities cannot prohibit the people of Kiev from returning to the city. At the same time, they also cannot guarantee that the capital will be a safe place, and enemy missiles will not hit any building.
- Klitschko also warned that there are still many roadblocks in the city, and moving around the city limited. Public transport is fully operational, exits from the Minsk massif and Obolon towards Pushcha-Vodytsia are closed.
- According to the mayor, now there are 2.5 million inhabitants in Kyiv, while before the war there were 3, 5 million.
