Gennadiy Korban was unable to enter Ukraine. The head of the territorial defense of the Dnepropetrovsk region was deprived of a Ukrainian passport when trying to cross the border.

Korban tried to cross the border between Poland and Ukraine at the Smolnitsa checkpoint. But there, the Border Service issued an act of confiscating his passport. Consequently, he was not allowed to enter the territory of Ukraine.
Korban's lawyer, Andriy Iosipenko, said that they did this, apparently on behalf of the Migration Service. Although Korban himself and his lawyer were not shown it.
“The orders of the Migration Service were not shown to us. I do not exclude the fact that this order was not physically in the border service,” Andrey Iosipenko said.
At the same time, the decision to refuse to cross the border of Korban, according to according to the lawyer, was adopted on the basis of a presidential decree depriving Korban of citizenship. But a copy of this document was not shown to the lawyer either.
“While Gennadiy Korban does not enter Ukraine. We tried, we were denied entry as a stateless person,” summed up Andriy Iosipenko.
Regarding Korban's other citizenship, the lawyer noted that he did not know such information.
How the State Border Service and the State Migration Service reacted to this
The State Migration Service of Ukraine stated that they could not provide information about the order of the Migration Service to confiscate Korban's passport due to the protection of personal data.
The State Border Service was also referred to the prohibition of disclosure of personal data, answering a question about Gennady's attempt to cross the border Korban.
