Russians don't understand the word 'denazification'
Russia decided to hide its predatory war of extermination against Ukraine behind such words as “denazification” and “demilitarization.” He even calls the war itself a “special military operation.” But the Russians do not fully understand such words, so they have to be abandoned.
During the two months of the war, Russian propagandists repeatedly had to “change manuals” to explain the reason for the war against Ukraine. Another change came when it turned out that the Russians did not fully understand the meaning of the word “denazification”.
The publication “Project” conducted a study and found that propagandists almost abandoned this word. This thesis was confirmed by a media manager close to the Kremlin, sociologists and a political scientist. The reason was that the Kremlin decided to conduct a poll, where among the questions were the main theses of Russian propaganda about the war against Ukraine. And the Russians have never been able to properly explain what “denazification” means to them. And some even pronounce the word. So the term turned out to be unsuccessful.
Ultimately, the Kremlin decided to almost abandon its use. For example, if in the first episode after the start of the war, Russian propagandist Dmitry Kiselev devoted a whole seven minutes to defining this word in his program, then in April he either did not use this word in the episodes, or once per broadcast.
Although they decided not to completely abandon this word. After all, it is not pleasing to do this if it was used by the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin himself.
“Denazification is what awaits Russia en masse in the near future”
This decision of Russian propagandists caused sharp criticism from side of the adviser to the head of the Office of the President Mikhail Podolyak.
You invaded another country, massively killed civilians under a far-fetched pretext, and then just changed your mind? – Mikhail Podolyak wrote.
But he assured that soon the Russians would remember this word for a long time.
“I must upset all supporters of the war. It's time to learn how to write, pronounce and interpret this term correctly. Because denazification is what awaits Russia en masse in the near future. We must destroy Russian Nazism,” Mikhail Podolyak emphasized.
