Japanese airline will no longer use the “Z” logo. The decision was made because of the war that Russia started against Ukraine.

The corresponding decision was reported in the media with reference to the company's management. That is, they will not have a logo on the fuselage.

Japanese airline Zipair Tokyo will no longer use the letter “Z” the company said.

They also explained that:

• Users on social media began to complain about the logo, claiming that it could be “misunderstood” in the context of that “Z” has become a symbol of Russia's invasion of Ukraine;
• the logo on the tail of the planes will be temporarily covered with a sticker to hide the letter “Z”.

And the airline decided to completely replace it – instead of words, planes will eventually have three lines of black, white and green colors.< /p>

The company will repaint four aircraft by the spring of 2023. This will be done in line with the full scale aircraft maintenance.

Businesses are phasing out the letter “Z” en masse

• On May 22, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine banned the letters “Z” and “V”. In particular, the majority of deputies voted to ban the symbols of the Russian occupiers.
• Samsung has removed the letter “Z” from its smartphones with a folding screen. Previously, the devices were called Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3. After the changes, they will be called Galaxy Fold3 and Galaxy Flip3.
• In addition, the Ukrainian group BEZ OBMEZHEN changed its name. The soloist of the group Sergey Tanchinets emphasized that the group has changed its name and now it will look like this: WITHOUT OBMEZHEN. The musician said that he liked this letter in the name, but now no one wants to have something that will connect him with the invaders.
• A similar decision was made by the music company MOZGI GROUP. The relevant information was reported by the general producer Irina Gorova. In particular, they replaced the Latin letter “Z” with the Ukrainian “З”. Thus, they lost the Russian swastika and designations of military equipment and forces of the invaders and will be called MOЗGI GROUP.
