Major appropriations allocated by the US Congress in 2023 are almost exhausted, which puts the issue of assistance to Ukraine in a critical situation.
US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said this during a press briefing in Washington.
He said that the Pentagon has already used 95% of the allocated funds for military support for Ukraine.

“We are in a critical position in supporting Ukraine,” Miller said.
In this regard, he noted the urgent need to quickly make a decision regarding the additional request sent by the US President to Congress, which provides for funding assistance to Ukraine and Israel.
Earlier, US Presidential National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said that the lack of a new aid package for Ukraine is already affecting the US's ability to help.
