The Israeli delegation arrived at the UN Security Council meeting on the evening of October 30 wearing the yellow Star of David patches worn by Jews in Nazi-controlled areas during World War II.
Israeli Ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan said in a video message to X that this was done in protest against UN attempts to end the military operation against Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip.
“Today I announced at the Security Council that I am wearing the yellow patch to remind of the shame of her silence in the face of the atrocities committed by the Hamas Nazis. “I made it clear to Security Council members that after the Holocaust we swore “never again,” he emphasized.

On October 27, the UN General Assembly, by 120 votes, adopted a resolution on the protection of civilians in the Hamas war against Israel and the need for a “humanitarian truce.”
14 countries voted against the resolution (including Israel and the United States), 45 abstained (including Ukraine).
At the same time, the General Assembly did not condemn the Hamas terrorist attacks and hostage-taking.
