Russian invaders are trying to attack Slavyansk. They also stormed Rubizhne and Popasne.
The enemy is advancing to the east to establish full control over the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. Subsequently, to secure a land route between the Donbass and Crimea. This was reported in the General Staff on April 23.
In the Donetsk direction, the invaders are advancing along the entire line of collision. The main efforts of the enemy are concentrated on the assault on the Severodonetsk direction.
The enemy is exerting an intense fiery influence on our troops in order to drive them out and create conditions for the development of an offensive against Slavyansk. The offensive continues in the direction of Novotoshkivskoe and assault operations in the areas of Rubizhne, Popasnaya and Marinka, the report says.
In the Mariupol direction, the enemy continues to block our units in the area of the Azovstal plant. The invaders are inflicting air strikes on the city, in particular, using long-range aircraft.
During the day on April 22, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 8 enemy attacks in Donbas. The Ukrainian military destroyed:
- 9 tanks;
- 18 armored vehicles
- 13 vehicles;
- 1 tanker;
- 3 artillery systems.
