Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi shared the story of 10-year-old Veronika from Donetsk region, who recently celebrated her birthday.
Veronika's family home , which was in the Donetsk region, Russian infidels fired from a tank. The militants purposefully and deliberately fired at the basement where Veronica's family was hiding. As a result of the shelling, none of her relatives survived.

Alive from the rubble got only Veronica. Her entire family died. The adults covered the girl with themselves to save her. But a shell fragment hit her in the head. Because of this, my arm was paralyzed, – said Andrei Sadovy.
According to the mayor, Veronika is now in a children's hospital, where she is being treated. She has already had the first operation on her eye – he was saved. However, a shell fragment still remains in Veronica's head. Sadovyi said that it was impossible to remove this piece yet.

Now Veronika feels much better – she again masters the movements and learns to walk.
The memory returns to the girl, she learns to walk and smile again. There are thousands of such stories. In most cases, the victims need complex operations and long rehabilitation, – said the mayor of Lviv.
He said that at present, full-fledged rehabilitation for the victims is not available in Ukraine. Therefore, with the support of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the construction project of the National Rehabilitation Center “Indestructible” was launched.
After all, each of these stories is a story of the invincibility of Ukrainians. This is about people who will go through all the trials and be sure to be happy. At home, on their Ukrainian land, Sadovyi concluded.
What is known about the project
- The head of the city noted that more than 1,000 patients from hot spots are now being treated in Lviv hospitals. Among them there are people with mine-explosive injuries left without limbs. Often, patients do not have relatives and friends who could take care of them.
- If possible, the wounded are sent abroad with their families, but these resources are limited, Sadovyi said. He announced the creation of a major project “Indestructible”, within which the construction of a national rehabilitation center will take place. Work on it has been going on for more than a month. The local authorities have set themselves the task of creating a center that has no analogues in the world, and therefore is looking for partners and asking for high-quality expertise.
- It is planned that the center will make prosthetics, carry out rehabilitation and socialization, and also provide psychological support, which is now so necessary for a huge number of Ukrainians.
- As the mayor noted, “Indestructible” is a large crowdfunding project. It will officially kick off on June 10 and will start with a big conference of partners. It will be attended by foundations and embassies that have already agreed to cooperate.
