On the evening of November 16, it became known that the entrance to one of the houses in Astrakhan had collapsed. Subsequently, information was received about the “fatigue” of two entrances, as well as the victim.

As propaganda media reported, this happened on Station Square. A house there partially collapsed. According to preliminary information, there could be people under the rubble.

The house could have been washed away by sewage

Actually, this is one of the previous versions of the collapse. They say the foundation was washed away by sewer water. Rescuers arrived at the scene. The authorities also created an operational headquarters to coordinate what was happening. In fact, emergency services confirmed that there were people under the rubble. The version about sewer water was voiced by emergency services. It is considered as the main one.

It is known that two entrances collapsed at once. Rescuers are inspecting the rubble, looking for people who may have been in their homes during the incident.

Governor Igor Babushkin noted that rescuers began to clear the rubble at the scene. Meanwhile, eyewitnesses reported a crack in the outer wall of the house, whose entrances had collapsed. Thus, a crack in the house became another likely cause of the collapse of the entrances.

Complained about the crack several times

It became known that residents had repeatedly complained about the crack in the house. It is known that the building itself was built in 1962. Consequently, the five-story building was 61 years old at the time of the collapse.

According to reports, 213 people were evacuated from the destroyed house. Three temporary accommodation points have already been organized at school bases nearby.

At the same time, in Astrakhan the possibility of a gas explosion was ruled out. This was stated by local authorities.

Later, the Ministry of Emergency Situations announced that the body of an 84-year-old woman was recovered from the rubble of the house. Governor Babushkin also said that several people are considered missing after the collapse of the entrances.
