The head of the UGCC explained whether killing an enemy is considered a sin/AP
Ukrainians have 59 days titanic defend the country from enemies. Some manage to retreat, and some are literally destroyed by our fighters. The head of the UGCC explained whether it is considered a sin to kill an enemy.
The head of the UGCC Svyatoslav Shevchuk gave an interview. During the conversation, he answered a question that has been troubling Ukrainians for two months: is it considered a sin to kill an enemy.
Nobody canceled God's commandment, but…
Svyatoslav Shevchuk noted that there are no circumstances that could cancel the commandment of God – do not kill. This also applies to war. At the same time, one should understand the duty of every Ukrainian.
We must understand that defending the Motherland is our sacred duty. Moreover, it is our natural rule,” he emphasized.
So, the head of the UGCC added, we must protect our land. To do this, use the same amount of funds as the enemies. Moreover, you have to stop the enemy even at the cost of your own life.
Consequently, Ukrainians have the right and duty not only to ask for weapons. They can take it into their hands in order to stop the bloody war that Russia started against Ukraine.
These are actions that we did not want, because we did not land, we did not start this war, but we have to finish it,” Svyatoslav Shevchuk emphasized.
Earlier, Metropolitan Epiphanius stressed that the use of weapons when it comes to defending the Motherland is not a sin. He is convinced that the protection of neighbors from aggression is a civic duty that has the blessing of God.
