On Monday, November 20, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dismissed the leadership of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine. Officials are suspected of embezzling UAH 62 million.
The permanent representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnichuk, announced personnel decisions.
Dismissal of the leadership of the State Service for Special Communications
The government dismissed Yuri Shchigol from the post of head of the State Special Communications Service . He has held this post since July 2020. Prior to this, he served in military service in operational and leadership positions in the Security Service of Ukraine.

As head of the State Service for Special Communications, Yuriy Shchigol was involved in the Drone Army project, the goal of which is to provide the Ukrainian military with drones at the front. The program was founded in July 2022, it was launched by the State Special Communications Service, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Digital Transformation on the United24 platform.
In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers dismissed Viktor Zhora from the post of deputy chairman of the State Special Communications Service . He worked on issues of digital development, digital transformation and digitalization.
