The head of the Italian Ministry of Defense on the war in Ukraine: I hope for a decision in the next 7-8 months

In Italy they expressed hope that within the next 7-8 months an “attempt to resolve” full-scale war unleashed by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

This statement was made by Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto on the sidelines of a meeting with his British and Japanese colleagues in London.

– I hope that in Over the next 7 or 8 months there will be an attempt to resolve the war in Ukraine. This is my hope,” he noted.

The minister added that the minimum condition for negotiations is a preliminary ceasefire on the part of Russian troops, namely “that Russia will stop bombing Ukraine at least for day”.

As Crosetto emphasized, “peace can only come if Putin ceases fire”. He clarified that the ultimate goal of any hypothetical negotiations remains the “resumption of international legality.”

Commenting on the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Crosetto said that this is “not a walk at all.” ;, and “both sides are suffering heavy losses”.

Recently, the head of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, expressed the opinion that Ukraine has 30-45 days left for the active phase of the counteroffensive. After this, the advance of Ukrainian troops will be complicated by weather conditions.
