Rafael Grossi reported that the physical integrity of the occupied Zaporozhye NPP was violated several times. However, he did not say who exactly violated it.
Grossi also spoke about the explosions and shots that were heard very close to the IAEA mission in Zaporozhye. However, he again spoke in a neutral voice, saying that it was “very disturbing”.
Grossi said that the ZNPP was shelled, but did not mention the Russians
It is clear that the station and the physical integrity of the station have been violated several times… this is something that cannot continue, said the IAEA chairman.
He also added that during his stay at the nuclear power plant, shelling was heard nearby “uncomfortably close”. But even here he remained neutral and did not name the Russian infidels as the culprits.
There were moments when the fire was obvious, heavy machine guns, artillery mortars, two or three times, really very disturbing, I would say, for all of us,” Grossi said.
Zelensky criticized the IAEA
Representatives of the mission, who arrived at the ZNPP on September 1, did not call on Russia to demilitarization of the station territory. President Volodymyr Zelensky was outraged by this, because the main goal was precisely the demilitarization during the negotiations with Grossi.
“This is the goal of Ukrainian and international efforts. we talked about this with Mr. Grossi at our meeting in Kyiv,” Zelensky stressed.
