Ukraine's partners continue to supply the modern necessary weapons for Ukraine's victory in the war. However, Russia also has a lot of weapons and it has its own analogue of the JDAM system, which is fighting against the Ukrainians.

Yuri Ignat, spokesman for the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, spoke about this on Channel 24 . According to him, Ukraine needs more such weapons.

Ukraine needs weapons

Yuriy Ignat said that Ukraine has modern weapons and uses their war, but it needs more. He also noted that Russia has its own analogue of guided aerial bombs and is also using them against Ukraine.

We see that the enemy uses such bombs of his own production, and the recently downed Russian plane used an analogue of these bombs,โ€ Ignat said.

The representative of the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that more and more new methods, tactics and types of weapons are being used in this war. In particular, the use of UAVs and guided bombs has become more frequent.

What is the feature of guided bombs

Ignat noted that these bombs can fly far enough due to their technical characteristics and improvements. The military man added that it is almost impossible to resist aircraft carrying guided bombs, because they drop them 40-60 kilometers from the Ukrainian air defense zone and, accordingly, Ukraine cannot shoot down these aircraft.

This situation can be changed by long-range air defense systems like Patriot or SAMP-T, which destroy targets at a distance of more than 150 kilometers. Also, the situation will be replaced by Western aircraft, which will be able to launch missiles at a distance of up to 180 kilometers.

How guided bombs help Ukraine

Yuriy Ignat said that JDAM systems are a very powerful support for the Ukrainian army. He described this weapon as a “far hand” that can reach the enemy.

“This is the same long-range hand that can reach the enemy at distant approaches, destroy his logistics supplies and so on,” the Air Force spokesman said.
