The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has banned power outages in populated areas located within a 20-kilometer zone from the border with Russia and Belarus and in frontline zones.

This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

Power will not be turned off in frontline zones and on the border with the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus light

The head of the government noted that due to Russian terror and abnormal heat, Ukraine is experiencing a permanent deficit of generating capacity, which is why Ukrenergo is forced to turn off electricity.

According to him, in these conditions, society demands fairness in the distribution of available electricity. That is why the government is responding to this request and forming a list of critically important facilities that are guaranteed priority electricity supply.

– Based on the results of communication with the OVA, we will specify this list. Critically important facilities include gas, heat, electricity, water supply and drainage facilities, hospitals. Today we are also adding a rule that the power will not be disconnected for populated areas, as well as facilities in a 20-kilometer zone from the border with Russia, Belarus and in the 20-kilometer frontline zone, the Prime Minister said.

He also added that the algorithm will be improved to ensure a uniform sequence and duration of disconnections.
