The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Russian aggressor is operating in the Izyum direction in separate units.
According to the information, it is known about units from the 1st Tank Army, the 20th Combined Arms Army of the Western Military District , the 35th and 68th combined-arms armies of the Eastern Military District and the airborne troops.
“It is expected to continue attempts to attack in the Izyum-Slavyansk and Izyum-Barvenkovo directions,” the General Staff reported.
This information was confirmed by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny. He said that in recent weeks the enemy had regrouped forces and assets in the east. In addition, it is trying to break through the defenses in several directions, concentrating its main efforts on Izyumsky.
The military command ensures the strengthening of the defense, primarily with anti-tank and anti-aircraft weapons. The Russian “liberator” has sharply worsened the humanitarian situation in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, – said Valery Zaluzhny.
“Despite the prevailing enemy forces in some areas, thanks to the acquired skills of commanders and the combat experience of our soldiers, we manage to repel attacks , inflicting significant losses on the enemy,” added Zaluzhny.
