Macron did not accept the resignation of Prime Minister Attal

The office of the French president said that Macron asked Attal to remain as prime minister for now in order to “ensure stability in the country.”

Note that Attal said the day before that will resign in accordance with French political tradition, but is ready to serve as prime minister if the president makes the appropriate decision.

Recall that in France on July 7 the second round of early elections took place in parliament. Already on July 8, the official results of the French vote became known.

The French Ministry of Internal Affairs said that according to the results of the second round of parliamentary elections in France, the Popular Front party secured first place , while President Emmanuel Macron's Together coalition came in second. In third place is the far-right National Rally party, which was previously predicted to win the elections.

So, the Popular Front received 182 seats in parliament, the Razom coalition – 168 seats, and the National Rally – 143 seats.

It is worth noting that none of the parties that entered the French parliament received an absolute majority, because for this 289 seats needed.
