From October 2019 to February 2021, Elena Protsenko worked with the Russians and was the mayor of the occupied Simferopol. During a full-scale war, she celebrates Christmas with her relatives while singing carols in Ukrainian.
The collaborators posted a video of the family holiday on Instagram. Pro-Russian telegram channels write that such an act by Protsenko is “a public demonstration of old habits that caused a negative reaction in Crimea.”
The propagandists noted that the video showed Protsenko herself and her husband, a former colonel of the Ukrainian police. They and other relatives are listening to a carol performed by the Lviv group “Picardian third”.

Miss Crimea occupiers sang a rebel song
In the fall, “Miss Crimea-2022” Olga Valeeva and her friend sang “Red Kalina” and published a video. For this, Valeeva was fined 40 thousand rubles, and her friend was arrested for 10 days.
After that, the occupiers in Crimea declared that Krasnaya Kalina was extremist and compared it with Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf.
The “Red Kalina” was created by the Austrian authorities in order to form divisions in Galicia to fight the Slav brothers. The specific enemy there is the Russian people,” Nikolai Volkov, head of the criminal parliamentary committee on culture, said.
