The first Leopard 2 tanks, provided to our state by Poland, have arrived in Ukraine. Denys Shmygal has already shown heavy combat vehicles that bring our state closer to victory.

The Ukrainian prime minister posted a series of photos online. On them you can see the first few Leopard 2 tanks that arrived in our country together with his Polish colleague Mateusz Morwiecki.

The prime ministers also welcomed the Ukrainian tank crews. According to Shmyhal, they already have successful combat experience. The head of the Ukrainian government thanked them for their reliable protection.

He also expressed gratitude to Poland and other partners who are taking decisive steps to help bring Ukraine closer to victory. Shmygal stressed that under the leadership of Volodymyr Zelensky, our statecontinues to expand the “tank coalition”.This will return freedom to all Ukrainian territories.

He also expressed his gratitude to the Polish people, President of Poland Andrzej Dudy, as well as Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak.

Ukraine will receive 60 more tanks

According to Mateusz Morawiecki, in a few days Ukraine will receive another 60 post-Soviet tanks We are talking about PT-91 Twardy, built on the basis of T-72 combat vehicles.

Note that these are not the first post-Soviet tanks provided to Ukraine by Poland. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion – February 24, 2022 – the Poles have already transferred about 250 T-72 tanks to us.

Note that Europe will transfer approximately 80 Leopard tanks to Ukraine to provide two battalions . Each of them will contain 40 heavy combat vehicles.

In general, three battalions will be formed:

  • the first – Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and Finland , which will provide Leopard 2A6 tanks;
  • second – Poland and Norway and Leopard 2A4;
  • third – the United States, which will supply the Armed Forces with M1 Abrams tanks.
