During a joint press conference, the head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry also announced even more positive changes. Reznikov noted that this was the second meeting with Pistorius after the meeting in the Rammstein format. According to him,we are expecting another one, but this time in Brussels.
There will be a lot of positive news. We discussed not only the conditions for protecting our skies, but also cooperation both for the future and after the victory, Reznikov emphasized.
Pistorius noted that, together with Reznikov, they discussed how to speed up the process of producing ammunition for Ukraine. It was about missiles for air defense systems. He also added that there should be no doubt thatGermany stands and will “stand on the side of Ukraine”.
Our state will not only receive Leopard 2 tanks from Germany. Berlin will also train our military.
The military have already gone to study
Pistorius also stated this during a press conference. He added thatit was an honor to see the Ukrainian defenders off for training. The German Defense Minister expressed admiration for the Ukrainian military.
I admire the speed of preparation of Ukrainians who gain knowledge. Weapons systems are working effectively for Ukraine in this war of conquest by Russia. This applies to Marder, NASAMS, Patriot. It also shows how well the Ukrainian soldiers work,” he stressed.
The head of the German defense department recalled the last meeting in the Ramstein format. According to him, during it, the deliveries of Leopard 2 A6 tanks to Ukraine were discussed. Four days later, the German government decided to transfer four tanks, ammunition, and repair support. In addition, he promised to help with the preparation. The rest, in fact, is happening almost now.
It is interesting that Ukraine will receive not only Leopard 2 tanks, but also Leopard 1. The corresponding decision was made on February 7 in Germany. It involves the transfer of 178 of these heavy combat vehicles to our army. By the summer, 20-25 tanks should be sent, by the end of the year – about 80. The rest – during 2024.
