Soon, Germany will hand over Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns and their ammunition. The first batch will arrive in the summer.

German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht informed Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov about this.

Gepard is an effective weapon with a significant deterrent effect, in particular it suitable for protecting critical infrastructure. The first batch is sent within the summer with fully trained crews. The rest of the cars will be delivered during the summer.

Alexey Reznikov wrote on his Twitter that he would announce the details in the near future. He also thanked the head of the German Ministry of Defense for his support.

A very productive meeting with the German Federal Ministry of Defense Christine Lambrecht took place today. We discussed the start of a new important project that will strengthen the capabilities of the Ukrainian army. Details will be coming soon. Thank you Kristin for your dedication and support!,” Reznikov tweeted.

Situation with weapons in Ukraine

On the air of Channel 24, adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Rostyslav Smirnov said that the need for weapons remains. But the situation is no longer critical.

According to him, the process of providing weapons to Ukraine has already been launched and is working in full. The intelligence agencies of the leading countries and Ukrainian analysts believe that Ukraine will accumulate the necessary military, armed and human potential in a month.

But there is a certain problem with the weapons that the UK wants to give us – not all countries want to let them through.
