The former head of the Supreme Court of Ukraine, Vsevolod Knyazev, was found at a checkpoint in the village of Solotvyno in the Transcarpathian region, a kilometer from the border with Romania.

Information about this was confirmed to Suspilne noviny by sources in law enforcement agencies. It is alleged that he was riding as a passenger in a car.

Vsevolod Knyazev’s lawyer Ivan Starosta told reporters that there was no arrest. According to him, the information disseminated is not true.

— Knyazev is indeed in Transcarpathia, where he arrived for recovery in one of the sanatoriums. In the village of Solotvino, which is geographically located near the border, his documents were checked and the purpose of his visit to the border zone was found out, — noted the lawyer.

According to him, there are no comments on Vsevolod Knyazev from the border guards after all the issues have been clarified.

In May, NABU and SAPO announced the exposure of a scheme for obtaining improper benefits by management and judges of the Supreme Court.

In particular, law enforcement officers detained Vsevolod Knyazev, who was then the head of the Supreme Court, and seized $2.7 million.
