Sanctions against Russian propagandists and Medvedchuk
The European Parliament asks to introduce sanctions against Russian propagandists and media, as well as to add restrictions regarding Viktor Medvedchuk and his friend Artem Marchevsky, who works for Voice of Europe.
The corresponding resolution was supported by 429 MEPs, another 27 voted against, 48 – abstained. The European Parliament believes that Russia remains the biggest threat.
MEPs propose strengthening internal security and introducing compulsory training on security for MEPs and staff.
In addition, given the news of far-right MEP Maximilian Krach receiving funds from the Kremlin and the suspicion that his assistant is spying for China, the European Parliament demands from the far-right party “Alternative for Germany” to reveal sources of funding.
