On September 15, the ban on the import of grain from Ukraine to five EU countries expires. Therefore, today the European Commission is likely to extend the embargo, although perhaps not until the end of the year, as Poland demands, radio station RMF FM reports, citing its sources.
— There are strong arguments for extending the embargo, including data showing Ukrainian exports are increasing despite the ban. However, the last word belongs to the head of the European Commission, — the message says.
According to the radio station, the decision regarding the embargo will be made in the afternoon collegially, in the so-called written way.

That is, when an official request is received from the head of the commissioner’s office on trade by Valdis Dombrovskis, theoretically each of the commissioners' offices will be able to provide comments. Only after this will there be approval from the head of the European Commission and then a press release will be published.
On May 2, the European Union introduced a ban on the import of Ukrainian grain to five countries, on June 5 it was extended and its deadline expires on September 15.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki previously stated that his country had decided not to resume imports of Ukrainian grain, regardless of the decision of the European Commission.
