The European Union has increased military aid to Ukraine. On July 18, the EU agreed on the 5th tranche of military assistance to Ukraine for 500 million euros.
The amount of funding for armaments to Ukraine from the EU reached 2.5 billion euros
The fifth package military assistance to Ukraine for 500 million euros, as expected, was approved at a meeting of foreign ministers of EU member states. The total amount of funding for the armament of Ukraine from the EU amounted to 2.5 billion euros.
The President of the European Council Charles Michel announced the political decision on the 5th tranche. He noted that the European Union will continue to support Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called on the EU for additional bilateral military assistance
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, who addressed the European Council at the invitation of Charles Michel, expressed gratitude for the additional 500 million euros.
The Ukrainian minister called on the EU for additional bilateral military assistance. Kuleba also noted sanctions against the Russian regime.
An energy embargo, a cap on oil prices, a ban on all Russian TV channels. I call on the EU states to support the Special Tribunal for the Crimes of Aggression against Ukraine,” Kuleba said.
The Foreign Minister said that peace can be established through the supply of weapons to Ukraine and sanctions against Russia.
“My key message: weapons to Ukraine, sanctions against Russia and Russia's responsibility are three ways to restore peace, strengthen security and protect stability in Europe,” Kuleba summed up.
