Thanks to the indifference of the Ukrainians, we managed to bring out the cat of our defender, who died in the battles for Ukraine, from the occupied Mariupol. Currently, the four-legged animal is safe.
That was the dying wish of police officer Daniil Safonov, who died on May 2 during the shelling of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol.
Daniil Safonov defended Mariupol
Daniil Safonov was a migrant from Donetsk. In 2014, the man left for Mariupol. Subsequently, he became a military separate artillery brigade. For three years he fought against the invaders in the ATO. And he joined the ranks of the Patrol Police in 2019.
Daniil Safonov died on May 2 at 11.00. Two more Ukrainian fighters also fell with him. All of them performed another combat mission. After returning, the military came under enemy mortar fire.
How Safonov's cat was saved
For a long time the cat of the Ukrainian hero lived in the occupation. Fortunately, on July 10, with pain and suffering, she managed to be taken to the territory controlled by Ukraine. This was done by one of the residents of Mariupol, who fled from the occupied city without things, money, but with children and cats.
