The division protects Putin alone: what is the biggest problem of Russian air defense Melania Golembiovskaya

Analysts from the Institute for the Study of War reported that regional authorities in Russia have directly stated that they cannot rely on Russian air defense and must counteract drones themselves. Local authorities and businesses are unhappy with such actions by the Kremlin.

Former SBU officer Ivan Stupak told 24 Channel that Vladimir Putin alone is protected by an entire division. The Russians are afraid to speak out against the war.

What is the biggest problem with Russian air defense?

According to Stupak, Russia lacks air defense systems. Private companies and large businesses must defend themselves from Ukrainian drone strikes. When the first drone strikes hit Russian oil refineries, the Russians panicked. There were cases when the occupiers wanted to bribe the Defense Ministry into defending them with their own systems, namely the Pantsir-S1.

But there are few Pantsir-S1s, and many facilities. Dictator Putin took one division for himself, which is 6 units. They put them on Valdai, on large towers for a larger radius of coverage of radars of potential drone complexes, – the former SBU employee emphasized.

Stupak said that this situation does not please businesses and local authorities. They produce improvised hangars, nets, and put concrete structures over power lines. Of course, this will not help. Russians whine on the Internet, but no one can speak out loud and oppose this war, because they will receive criminal proceedings.
